Why not make your own play food? It is soft, safe, washable and super cute!
This is a simple pattern that whips up quickly.
You will need:
- hook sizes 4.5 and 3.5
- yarn needle
- black medium worsted weight yarn
- bulky grey yarn
- white medium worsted weight yarn
- yellow medium worsted weight yarn
- fiberfill stuffing

Techniques:
This is made using rounds with single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet and triple crochet
Abbreviations
Rd – round
ch – chain
hk – hook
sl st – slip stitch
ea – each
st – stitch
lp – loop
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
tr – triple crochet
fo – fasten off

Rd 1: ch 3, 8hdc in 2nd ch from hk (8)
Rd 2: 2hdc around (16)
Rd 3: (hdc, 2hdc) around (24)
Rd 4: (hdc in 2, 2hdc) around (32)

Note -if your yarn is not chunky, then you will need to increase accordingly. The black should fit inside

Handle
Rd 1: ch 2, 8sc in 2nd ch from hk (8)
Rd 2- 12: sc around (8)
sl st, fo, stuff and sew on to skillet
Finishing
Sew black lining into the skillet at the top and along the bottom
Edging:
Reattach grey and sc around the top, working between both thicknesses of black and grey and along the sides of the handle. At the top of the handle ch 4, skip a space and continue sc around (you will have approx 45 st)
sl st and fo. weave in all your ends.
Egg white
Rd 1: ch 2, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hk (8)
Rd 2: 2sc around (16)
Rd 3: (sc, 2sc) around (24)
Rd 4: *(sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc)in 1 st, sc in 3 st. Repeat from * 3 more times. Tc in 3, dc in 2, sc, sl st twice. Fo.
Yolk:
Rd 1: ch 2, 8sc in 2nd ch from hk (8)
Rd 2: sc in back lps only, around (8)
sl st, fo and sew to egg whites.
And that’s it! Your little one will now have a skillet and eggs to play with. Alternatively, sew the eggs into the skillet and hang up in your kitchen!
